Merry Christmas 2023
Dear Reader,
I'll cut to the chase—no fluff, no filler. This year has been nothing short of a rollercoaster, and frankly, I'm surprised I've kept up. We've stepped into the AI Era. Everywhere you look, there's some new, mind-boggling advancement. Trying to keep up with this tech tidal wave is like drinking from a fire hose—messy and overwhelming.
And then there's Japan. Oh, Japan. The economy decided to take a nosedive, but hey, at least the borders are open again. Hopefully it recovers because I feel as broke as a college student.
And let's not forget the tech parade that graced us this year. PSVR2, PlayStation Portal, Oculus Quest 3, 12k Resin 3D Printers, and services with server instances with GPUs—specifically Nvidia's GPUs. They've been stealing the spotlight while some companies (cough, AMD and Intel) seem to have dozed off at the wheel. Wake up, guys; you're missing the party.
As for me, I'm not one to embrace the whole 'holiday shutdown' ethos. So, I'll be here, tapping away at my keyboard, squeezing out the last bits of productivity before the year wraps up. But don't worry, I'll take a breather eventually—probably when I'm too exhausted to do otherwise.
Now, here's the part where I get a bit sentimental (don't get used to it). I want to say thank you. Yes, you read that right. Thank you for sticking with me through my rants, my musings, and my sporadic bursts of insight. Whether you've been an avid reader or just popped in out of curiosity, your eyes on my words mean more than you might think.
So, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year to you, your family, and your loved ones. Life is not a straight line so let's see what chaos and wonder the next year brings.
Until then, stay sharp, stay curious, and maybe, just for a moment, let yourself enjoy the holiday magic. Or don't. I'm not your boss.
Sincerely,
Izumi
